3/12/2010 AXA offers indemnity Long Term Rider on Universal Life policies
AXA Equitable offers an Indemnity benefit with our Long-Term Care Services Rider - adding more flexibility for your clients.
If you have clients that have a life insurance need and are also looking for Long Term Care Coverage, please take a closer look. There are two general types of benefits offered with long-term care riders, Indemnity and Reimbursement.
Check out the difference:
Indemnity
• No receipts or bills are submitted to insurance carrier.
• Monthly payment is automatically sent to policyowner.
• Policyowner will be paid the full monthly amount elected, even if his or her long-term care expenses are less than the benefit.
Reimbursement
• Long-term care receipts and bills must be submitted to the insurer before the benefit is paid.
• The long-term care provider will pay only for all or a portion of the expenses incurred, up to the amount elected.

3/11/2010 Mutual of Omaha has new SIMPLIFIED issue life app
We're pleased to introduce a new, shorter application for our simplified issue Term Life Express, Guaranteed Universal Life Express and Single Premium Life products. You can start using the new app on March 15 — and must begin using it by April 15. For futher details, including the timeline and transition rules for switching from the current app to the new one.
The new app will help speed up the underwriting process. And you can take another step in that direction by completing the app online. Just pull up the fillable pdf in Forms and Materials on Sales Professional Access (SPA) and type the client information in the writeable fields. Then print the app, have the client sign it and submit it as you normally would.

John Hancock has repriced its Term 20 product. Term 10 and Term 15 premiums remain unchanged.

3/8/2010 Fidelity life brings back "Return of Premium"
As you may already know, regulatory changes affecting Return of Premium (ROP) riders went in to effect on January 1, 2010. The effects of these changes were felt industry-wide, and caused many companies to raise ROP rider rates or discontinue offering the benefit altogether.
At Fidelity Life, we recognize the consumer appeal of ROP and the fact that the rider can be a key feature that enhances the sale of our Rapid Decision Term and Mortgage Term products. As a result, we feel that the best response to these new regulatory requirements is one that 1) preserves the ability to offer ROP and 2) keeps the premiums at affordable levels.
As a result, we are happy to reintroduce the ROP rider, effective immediately. We have not increased rider premium rates, but have adjusted commissions in order to continue to offer the rider. Please note the adjusted commissions apply to the ROP rider only. The base policy commissions and other rider commissions have not changed.

North American is pleased to announce that effective March 1, 2010 we will begin accepting new annuity agent appointments without the new business requirements currently in effect. New Agent Contracting Applications dated on or after March 1 will be processed according to these new guidelines.
